I am so pumped about this evening. I'm going to Casino Rama with Taylor Darling and my Mom to see Joan Rivers. This casino, which is located on a sprawling Native reserve, has a very Canadiana/West Coast/Native design. You would love it there. If Joan should recognize me and pull me aside to get my autograph I'll be sure to have someone take a photo. Sharing tomorrow.

On set with The Beales. Strange but true. And what exactly is wrong with that fact? My Dad spoke to me 'under his breath' tonight at the dinner table. "Your blog is very weird today" I muttered. Aha. He continued, "You took some strange photos. What's going on?" I asked him if he thought this story was significant...then I decided instead to ask him to try and buy some Grey Gardens merch instead. "Just try and buy something." I smiled. (That should give him his answer.) Now tomorrow he'll call me and say, "Perhaps we should consider doing some GG items."

The Rolex Mentors and Proteges Arts Initiative

I was playing with the remote yesterday afternoon. Bad weather transforms many Canadian televisions into giant human magnets and there are many a fight over the coveted computer chair. I lost. And then I won.

While flipping; channel surfing I found a treasure. On BBC World. Love & kisses to this network. I discovered a wonderful program called Mentors & Proteges. The Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative is an international philanthropic programme created to assist extraordinary, rising artists to achieve their full potential. It seeks out these artists from around the world and brings them together with great masters, for a year of creative collaboration in a one-to-one mentoring relationship.

This particular episode featured Julie Taymor (Mentor) and Selina Cartmell (Protege). I was transfixed, eyes focused, pen and leather notebook in hand. Glorious. Inspiring.
