I don't want to stay in Iraq that long.. or bomb Iran, but I don't think it's right to leave a people who have made a lot of progress towards liberty and governing themselves to face the terror that would surely happen if we leave those oil fields up for grabs.
I'm voting for McCain. He's not my dream candidate by any stretch, but I still believe that the way to a peaceful world is for democracy to take hold in the Middle East and around the world.
Love Boxes: I totally agree with you about the people in the Middle East. I long for peace in the world, I just wish our world leaders would use the word 'peace' in their sentences instead of 'bombs & war'. Nothing has really been the same since 9/11 has it? Thank you for your comment.
p.s. I am strongly against imposing my beliefs on others. By imposing democracy on other countries is unfair to them. Who made us God? Democracy is great, but we need not force it on others who are not in our USA.
I am voting for Obama because I want someone who cares about the issues in our country and not so concerned with issues elsewhere. We should bring troops home soon, I just don't feel our presence there is protecting us that much. I would be ANGRY if a country came into ours and occupied our streets...i would be very resentful toward that country and would want them to leave asap. TOO MUCH MONEY is being spent on this war, and kids aren't able to afford college, people are losing their homes, so many people do not have health insurance and I could go on an on about problems here within the US we need to worry about. McCain to me is like another George Bush, and look how TERRIBLE he's managed to make our country. I think the same people that voted for bush are probably voting for McCain, they may be afraid of change. It's what we NEED. George Bush has been ALL for the war since year 1, and WHERE HAS IT GOTTEN US? Look at the terrible state our country is in right now, BUT WE HAVE SECURE BORDERS...... not good enough.
