Homesick Texan

This brown bottle used to be filled with a scrumptious Texas BBQ sauce which we slurped up during one big dinner. I kept it because I like the lid and the brown glass. I'd put it on my tub with bubble bath, but I'm too afraid it might get knocked over and shatter. Anyway speaking all things Texas, I found a delightful blog via All the Best and it is called Homesick Texan. She is an expat Texan who has lived in New York City for over 12 years and a writer for a magazine (don't know which one...wish we did!) She grew up with—Tex-Mex, BBQ and chicken fried steak. She has spent the past years scouring the city for tastes that remind her of home—her blog is a record of her quest, and other food-related musings that befit a homesick Texan. The photography is amazing and she shares wonderful recipes like this which reminded me of my post a few days ago. I think it is such a contrast to hear Homesick Texan discuss her love of food and one of favorite bloggers Cote de Texas who shared with us a while ago that she does not like food. I thought all Texans loved their big BBQ's! Perhaps I will get lucky and she will share a dandy BBQ sauce with all of us so I can fill my brown jug up again!

My uncle makes an outstanding bbq sauce--I'll ask him for the recipe and share it with you! And thanks for the sweet words--you just made my day!

ok, I just saw this!!!!!! hahahaha, I wish I never wrote that as I'm eating Jelly Belly popcorn flavored. I don't hate food, it's just that I feel every emotion through my stomach, so, I don't know, food has never meant much to me! But I do love Texas food like Mexican (does that make sense?) and BBQ of course! The best bbq in Houston is Goode's, hands down, owned by a ZZ Top clone/friend/lookalike!!!
