Crystal Chandeliers

The top image is one of my favorite photos. It is the ceiling of the check-in lobby at the Paris Hotel is Vegas. I took the shot this year. Wouldn't you just swear it was in France? I have envisioned enlarging it to 40"x60" and hanging it on a wall in a stark, modern dining room. I think the juxtaposition of elegance in a contemporary space would be very interesting and to add that touch of whimsy we've all been discussing I would have this quote screened in gold onto the opposite wall....

"A newspaper reported that I spent $30,000 a year buying Paris clothes and that women hate me for it. I couldn't spend that much unless I wore sable underwear. " - Jackie Kennedy

Now that would open up some good conversation over dinner.

Hi!
I am so happy to have found another Canadian blogger!! Your site is lovely and I was looking for your profile to see what you do and where exactly you're from but I didn't see it.
I am from Nova Scotia and am relatively new to blogging although I am quickly realizing it is a great new world for design inspiration.
Come visit me sometime. By the way, I am a huge Princess Diana fan as well. It started at the beginning and having immigrated from Ireland as a child, I have some really good souvenirs from her wedding that family sent me. Maybe I'll take your lead and show them on my blog soon...

Love that Jackie quote...thanks for the good laugh. You know just between you and me she did spend that $30,000.00 a year, but since her husband groomed her in the way of Politicans she has the gift for defecting the question and turning it around and making herself shine ever more.
