I took a photo of this photo from a magazine I've kept for ten years. This moment in her life would probably have taken place this week some time. Ten years. Can you believe it?
I was a huge Lady Di person. Still am. I am thinking how nice it would be if all the bloggers did a blogging project in her memory. Do a painting, photograph, write a poem, collage, needle art, sew, paper goods...whatever.
Perhaps you could do a post based on her fashion sense or imagining what her bedroom looked like. Maybe something she did with William & Harry when they were little. A photomontage of things she liked or liked to do.
You don't have to be crafty or artsy. Anything goes. You may write something or post a simple photo.
One of the most inspiring things I've ever seen in our blogging community was the Marie Antoinette zine that Anahata Katkin and Lynne Perrella organized. This might give you some ideas.
We will tell all our friends about our project, but we will keep our creations a secret until we post them all on August 31, 2007, the 10th Anniversary of her death.
Let's call our collaborative project. 'The People's Princess'.
What do you think? Shall we do it? I say 'Yes', I'm in.
If yes, would you mind letting all your blogging friends and readers know what we have planned.
I just think it would be a really thoughtful gesture.

And I thought I was the biggest Diana fan around! I'm not too crafty, but maybe I could wrie a poem? I doubt it, but still, it's a great idea to do something for her anniversary.

How about doing a post with photos that remind you of her style, or imagining what her decor was like? Anything goes.
I think this is a great tribute to a the wonderful person that she was. I visited a museum tour of her evening gowns years ago and I swooned over how fabulous her evening wardrobe was. I also love that picture of her sitting way out on the end of that gang plank. It is pretty indicitave of her life isn't it. I saw the recent interview on TV of her sons. They have grown into such wonderful human beings, but my heart went out to them on the sorrow they still have on a daily basis on losing their mother. she is sadly missed the world over.
And Wow it is 10 years, how the time goes. I remember it like it was yesterday, exactly where I was the moment I heard the news. Same as 9-11.
What a great idea. I will see what I can come up with. Princess Di was a definite woman of grace and presence. I can't wait to see how others view her in their art/designs. As one other post says, I remember exactly where I was...

I am so excited to see what everyone will create/write! Patricia: There are some wonderful photos of your client John Travolta dancing with Diana. This must be such a wonderful memory for him. Perhaps you could write about that! For me it felt like the whole world stopped to grieve for that entire week. And you are so right, everyone remembers where they were when she died and also where they were on 9.11. It is as though the universe implanted photographs in our minds.

He lives in Texas and he was Diana's personal chef. Cool!
Hannah, You are so right. She had so much grace. I love that word. Grace.
Great idea! I'm definitely in!
Thank you for inviting me. I miss Diana. She was a treasure, as much as any jewel in the the royal vault. I was pregnant with my son when the wedding was on TV. I could relate to her as she grew up and what she went through. I will make something and post it on the 31st. I am also going to add you to my Blog Roll. I love your painting collages and all the colors you photograph. You have a really nice Blog. Kim
