Float With Me

The name "dahabieh" (boat...floating palace) is thought to be derived from the Arabic word for "gold," owing to similar, gilded state barges used by the Muslim rulers of Egypt in the Middle Ages. Originally built to carry royal families, the dahabieh was and still remains the premier mode of luxury travel for the Nile River. The magnificent vessels have been around in one form or another for thousands of years, with similar craft being depicted on the walls of the tombs of Egyptian Pharaohs.

When we sail the Nile with Nour El Nil, we will experience many great pleasures and numerous small delights. While other tourists rush down the Nile aboard large cruise ships, we will spend our time on sunset desert walks, visiting rare and beautiful temples and relaxing on secluded golden sand beaches. Propelled by the gentle Nile winds, we will discover the many archaeological treasures, magnificent deserts and breathtaking vistas Egypt has to offer. We will walk in small villages and among farm land and orchards, meeting Egyptians as they go about their daily lives. When shall we leave? Float with me.

Oh, how glorious! You and yours are the nouveau royalty. What an experience.

Quick query: Did you receive 'the package' with the Olmsted/Central Park catalog? I sent it out weeks ago; maybe it didn't reach you.... Let me know.
