This is Disgraceful

(Get your Red Shoe Revolution sidebar button-image HERE)
Calling ALL Bloggers: We need a viral campaign to stop this insanity. This is disgraceful. How can we as a global society accept the scrutiny facing women? If you agree with me, that we (women) need to support and love each other no matter what size and shape we are, then please do a post, tweet, facebookit etc. to send the message. We were born perfect. We grow old perfect. Plastic surgery be damned.

Exposé
"The author, Melanie Berliet, had consultations with three plastic surgeons to determine what procedures they would recommend. The first, Dr. David P. Rapaport, proposed eliminating her “banana rolls” and “waist wads” and enlarging her bust to a size C, which he called “the Promised Land of Breasts.” Photographs by Justin Bishop.
We are comfortable in our own SHOES:
It all started with the expose in Vanity Fair. Then our good blogger friend, Life in Red Shoes, wrote a tremendous post about 'we' girls and body image, self-esteem, confidence, self-acceptance and more....and decided 'we' should start 'The Red Shoe Revolution' where we all post about the importance of loving our bodies - loving ourselves - ignoring the societal pressures - turning away from negative, unachievable examples of female physicality; avoiding judgements of fellow women -hushing the negative comments and gossip - ushering in a "Lady Love 'You'"generation of humans. So what do you say? Will you join our cause and post this image I designed?....and say your peace along with it. Use the image as you will. Spread the cause. Join 'The Red Shoe Revolution'. Pass it on. Click, enlarge, save, print, post, publish and share. Red, shiny and wonderful!
Find out more about THE RED SHOE REVOLUTION here.

The Red Shoe Revolution was started by bloggers 'Life in Red Shoes' from the United States and Libery Post from Canada.

Can't see a thing wrong with her apart from she's a bit too skinny maybe - but surgical procedures ? Yep it's ridiculous!

I read this with interest. Dear God, what would that first doctor recommend for me? A bullet??!!

It is all very sad, really...

I hadn't read your post's tilte, but 'disgraceful' was the word that came to mind. Women must resist and take pleasure in our bodies and our lives. God made us nothing less than perfect in our individual way.
Have you come across the statue of the goddess of Willendorf? I very much identify with her, not the pseudo-ideals that greedy fashion and beauty industrialists promote.
Thank you for bringing up tthis.

This girl is SKINNY, how absurd and ridiculous-no wonder our daughters all think they are fat--I would be frightened to go to a plastic surgeon!!

Considering that I can see her bones poking out of her hips, I think that lipo would be the last procedure this girl needs. It's sad that so many women feel the need to change their bodies - and sick that there are "doctors" who prey on these poor girls' insecurities. Doctors are meant to heal, not harm; I highly doubt that these comments/suggestions helped this woman's self esteem whatsoever.

You, also, deserve an Oscar for this.

It's brilliant. Thanks to both of you.

I think the concept has legs. Good, sturdy ones.

Good job: Oscars to both you both! Bravo!

Very well said! I couldn't agree more. I had to laugh when I was reading all of the labels on your photo there. Everyone in the magazines is air brushed anyways and I do think botox is ridiculous. You're totally right that we are human, we do age. There's a way to do it gracefully.
