Wish of the King Louis XIII Extracted February 10, 1638
We have declared and we declare that taking the Very Holy One and the Very Glorious Virgin for special owner of our kingdom, we particularly devote our Person, our Crown and our subjects to him begging to want us to inspire a holy control and to defend with such an amount of care this kingdom against the effort of sufferers that fled from the war or than we ask has God of any heart, it did not leave the ways of the grace which has lead those of glory.
Save to it perverse doctrines and threats of its enemies that, faithful has its vocation France supported in it’s action by the power of the prayer, the harmony of charity, exalt in the world the triumph and the reign of Christ, Prince of Peace.

O Marie, Mother of God, in union with Catholic France, we put ourselves under your very powerful protection and we offer to you; homage, of our hearts. Fill them with the love of your Divine Son, release to them passions and anguishes which disturb them, make them faithful to the service of King Jesus. Also spread in our spirits the lights of the truth so that error is banished who divides us. Protect our people, inspire our work, safeguard our homes our furnace bridges reign finally. O my Sovereign, on our dear fatherland.
