"Years and years after some pundits began predicting the end of newspapers, the newspapers themselves are finally realizing that it's over. Huge debt, high costs, declining subscription rates, plummeting ad base--will the last one out please turn off the lights." - Seth Godin

What will I do?
My last position was with a newspaper and believe me when I say that "pride cometh before a fall". Those were the most clueless, haughty and greedy people I've ever seen in my 40 plus years of working. They were CLUELESS as to the paradigm shift in the way that information was moving. And they will not be saved by the level of thinking that got them there.
The scary thing is that pretty soon there will be no newspapers in the U.S. but in a documentary I viewed that will filmed in Tehran - there were at least 20 different newspapers for sale on the street corner.
And....true story. One day the phone rang and a sweet little old lady asked to speak to the circulation department. She said, "I just bought a bird and I need something to line the cage." HA HA ... wow did we have a paper for her!!!
