Revolutionary Road and Titanic

I am looking forward to seeing the new movie Revolutionary Road that reunites Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet. I so hope their chemistry is the same as it was. The movie is based on the book by the same name. In the hopeful 1950s, Frank and April Wheeler appear to be a model couple: bright, beautiful, talented, with two young children and a starter home in the suburbs. Perhaps they married too young and started a family too early. Maybe Frank's job is dull. And April never saw herself as a housewife. Yet they have always lived on the assumption that greatness is only just around the corner. But now that certainty is about to crumble. After five nominations, Kate Winslet may get the Oscar she deserves, doubling down with back-to-back tours de force in The Reader and Revolutionary Road.

I read "The Reader" a couple of years ago. It was a very good but very strange book. There was one moment in the book that was so surprising to me. I gasped for breath and that doesn't come often in reading. It was written in German and translated into English and I've often wondered if the "strangeness" could be chalked up to cultural differences. I'm going to see the movie for sure.

I read "The Reader" and loved it but there have only been two books to movie that I have loved and they are Snow Falling on Cedars and The Hours.

Hope this one doesn't fail me!
