Size 10 Shoes for President George Bush

BREAKING NEWS: I interrupt this classic and tender Christmas tour of Canada to bring you breaking news. President Elect Obama announced early today (1:24 am) that he does not have to take 'shoe ducking' classes, as no one will be throwing their shoes at him. Poor George. Stinky situation. Thank goodness the majority of people in the world are good 'soles'. We now return to our regularly scheduled program.

The psychology of all this is quite interesting. The problem is that Obama has unwittingly set unrealistic expectations as he stood in Grant Park and repeated, "Yes, we can". Yes we can....what?

Every person listening took the meaning through the lens of their concerns. Every person listening believed that their wildly divergent agendas would be addressed. I think even Obama realizes that there will be people who are disappointed that everything won't be fixed. Not in a presidential term, not in a lifetime. It's also unfortunate that the current state of the world requires that someone be demonized and that seems to be Bush. History will be his judge, not us.

Anyone who believes we live in a dangerous world was not an adult during the 60's and early 70's. The free world was on fire, fear was as thick as fog. Everything is relative.
