Nova Scotia Christmas (featuring many lobsters)

Nova Scotia vacations are truly worlds-away from anything you’ve ever experienced. Renowned for the highest tides in the world at the Bay of Fundy, award-winning vineyards scattered about the province, nationally recognized chefs at the helm of Nova Scotia restaurants and over 700 festivals annually, Nova Scotia is a place of remarkable natural beauty and thriving culture. Relax at Peggy’s Cove fishing village, go on a whale watching trip, tour the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island, experience Nova Scotia golf, learn about Nova Scotia genealogy or explore one of Canada’s Seven Wonders—Pier 21—on a Halifax tour. Remember Nova Scotia accommodations can be found for every style of Maritime vacation, from seaside inns to quaint bed and breakfasts or urban Nova Scotia hotels - Tourism Nova Scotia
A spiritual province filled with Scotish Higlanders, Irish & French immigrants who settled in Nova Scotia, over two centuries ago sing British songs and carols on Christmas morning. Lobster is part of Christmas meals, counters full of baked goods, hockey games on ponds and backyard rinks, walks along the ocean shore, gatherings in pubs and halibut dinners at community halls - churches are everywhere. People attend services and celebrate family. Celebrate Christmas the old-fashioned Acadian way “Le Bon Vieux Temps de Noel.” The event brings together holiday and history with song, old-fashioned natural material Christmas craft-making, candy making and tin-type photography of the kids with Papa Noel.

My favorite vacation destination. I have travelled the east coast a couple of times. Also the friendliest people in the world can be found here. Love it!

I have experienced both a New Brunswick (where I grew up) and Nova Scotian Christmas and love both. I live ten minutes from the most incredible (in my opinion) beaches in Nova Scotia (the maritimes really...) and in the past we have gone for a drive to them near Christmas. My husband's family always has lobster on Christmas eve...we simply make a hearty seafood chowder.

I love living at this end of the country...can't be beat!!
