My World at Christmas (I Live the 'Blue')

I consider myself quite lucky. Blue in the summer, Blue in the winter. (and you know, blue is my favorite colour) I live in an area of Canada that is truly unique. It's a small town really with a lovely, rolling-hill 1 hour drive to Toronto. In the summer I enjoy the longest fresh water beach in the world. In the winter the area becomes a skiers paradise. And the fall! Oh my goodness. Such beauty. Because we live at the south eastern tip of the Great Lakes we are blessed with ferocious Ontario snowstorms. I think this curse is also a blessing. Santa can get here quicker when the clippers blow our way! At Christmas families gather with friends and snowmobile (1 goes by every few minutes 20 feet from this laptop...wait....wait for it...wait...hear that! yes..one just went by) - skating on backyard rinks, winter bonfires, cross-country skiing, tobogganing - and of course, hot chocolate and luscious candy apples in The Village at Blue Mountain. I wish you could be here to see the twinkling lights on the snowy mountain at night. So majestic and familiar and friendly and well....I love it here. Christmas Eve is a time to watch White Christmas and in the morning, fancy coffee, a big breakfast and gifts. Turkey dinner rounds up the day and stuffed tummies and starry walks finish the evening. This is my holiday beach town. No bikinis now. Just happy, happy people.

The blues of the soft light of winder are spectacular. My favorite also! What is that ice cave thing? Is that a frozen waterfall. It's beautiful.

are these all your photos? they are lovely -- and if all yours, you have quite a range of styles and perspectives! I'd love to see some attribution and links to the original photos wherever they are online, if they aren't yours ... so I can speak to the photographer. thanks.
