Garden Ornament Graveyard (A Happy One)

I know, I know. That sounds like a contradiction and well, quite frankly, it is. All these magnificent artifacts, architectural gems and such were spewn across this highway (Number Four) property in Lucan, Ontario. I could have spent hours there. Clicking away. Instead, I had to go. (Why is life such a hurried affair?) Rushing. Rushing. Driving. Now that I'm home (and smart enough to visit the library) I am truly enjoying this book. It's official. Garden Ornament Week here at Liberty Post starts.....right....now!!!

I love these architectural graveyards. There's a phenomenal one in Chicago, but of course it includes phenomenal prices. I guess I'm just going to have to hunt the countryside.

The doors on the top picture are superb. In fact, I like everything on that picture.

I am all for repurposed items. Architectural graveyards are a great place to find treasures for your garden, to add a unique touch to your home décor and to find props for a party. This one is full of great finds.

Such fabulous photos. I love old garden ornaments. They have such character. There is a great little place on Long Island, near my in-laws, that has a fabulous array of the stuff...and I can wander there for hours.

This is about 20 minutes from my mom's house. I can (and have) spent hours there, just walking around and poking at stuff. Awesome place!
