Bookie, The Little Lost Dog

This little dog is lost. Roaming our winter streets, almost hit by a car, heavy hind legs filled with icy snowballs matted into his copper fur. What do you make of this? Late yesterday afternoon a woman arrived at my parent's door with the dog in her arms. She said she almost ran over the dog and asked them if they could keep him because she had to get home. She handed over the dog and swiftly left. My parent's did not get her name or license plate number. It all happened so fast. Hindsight is 20/20. I would hate to think someone would randomly dump a dog like this to get rid of it. I can't imagine that is true, but these things do happen for whatever reason. No tattoo on an ear. No collar, so I went and bought one. My Golden's name is Paige, so everyone here thought it would be cool to call him 'Book'. Now we call him 'Bookie'. Last night I drove around the area, knocked on doors - sadly, no one recognized him. He had a nice bath this morning; expensive shampoo and leave-in conditioner. Some perfume behind his ears - a blow out. A yummy breakfast. He is lying beside my feet in front of the fire. Not sure of the breed? We have announcements going onto the local radio station, flyers up and classified ad in the local paper. I really hate to show him off to the world as I know there are people out there who will 'claim' he is their lovey-dovey...and I know there is a family crying because he is lost. I hope Bookie is from Wasaga Beach and that his owners are actively looking for him. I hope for a very happy ending. We will take good care of him until......

Oh my gosh...you're an angel, lucky Bookie. Have you called the animal shelters and the local vets? Sometimes people list their lost dogs on Craigs List. I'm cracking up over the blow-out.
