The Canada Day long weekend was spent painting my new office a soft beachy grey. The paint chip said 'Main Sail'. Years ago, I mean 20 years ago, I went to an auction at an old barn and bought this church pew for $80. Since then I've moved several times and carted the battered bench many miles. I've used it around a table, in a hall, a bedroom, my living room, a sunroom - but the best spot for it is in my freshly painted office, filled with my treasured books and magazines. This pine wood has a lot of history. What prayers were said? What tears were shed? What peace was felt? Now it is listening to me create - it's my little 'Church of Books'.
