We interrupt this fun and cheerful week of pretty soaps and luxury bathing items to bring you a few thoughts on 'cleaning up a human rights issue' in Iran. There is a democratic shift beneath the ground in this country. With 70% of the population under the age of 30; computer savvy and connected to satellite television (CNN/BBC/CBC), these Iranians want 3 Things: 1. Freedom 2. Prosperity and 3. Peace. What shall 'we' do about this? (and we do believe 'we' have the power to do 'something.) Thanks to Corine for breaking new ground in the design blog arena to open discussion about the protests. LPxo
I am thrilled to see that they are protesting in such great numbers. The power of the internet should never be underestimated.
ReplyDeletePowerful. Watching history unfold.
ReplyDeleteI too am fascinated by what is happening, but I believe this is THEIR revolution..we really cant do anything but support them with words of support (even then, tread softly) or we risk the west appearing to be co-oping their political change, even the greenest of reformists don't want that. Here is a good link with on the ground observations http://www.thewashingtonnote.com/.
