One Goal For My New Blog

I pledge to be better than I was yesterday for you, My Dear Reader. My new blog (a brand new look for Liberty Post) is almost ready to introduce to the world. I am so excited. Soon.

Marc Chagall's Granddaughter

So there is now evidence that you don't have to worry about your creative genes going to waste in generations to come. VASE in point: Fleurs Bella. Owned by the great artist's Granddaughter. Born in Paris and raised in Switzerland, Bella Meyer grew up immersed in art. As the granddaughter of Marc Chagall ("the quintessential Jewish artist of the twentieth century"), Bella’s imagination and artistic expression were always valued at home, grooming her for a life of creativity. On the academic side of life, Bella attained a Ph.D. in Medieval Art History at the Sorbonne in Paris, continuing all the while to paint and draw. After moving to New York in her twenties, she found her bliss designing and building fantastical worlds of costumes, masks, and puppets for theatre, opera, and dance. Flowers have always been close to Bella’s heart. Their unique ability to inspire people to smile, or to bring a moment’s peace, has always been a source of fascination for her. Over the years, Bella added flowers to her palette, focusing her talents on creating arrangements much in the way an artist paints. Working with each flower’s innate beauty, Bella highlights and juxtaposes their natural shape and color, blending texture with tone, the individual flower with the entire arrangement, creating works nothing short of wonder. Along with her enthusiastic and talented team, Bella creates every installation with the closest attention to the client’s desires for their occasion. The Fleurs Bella unending quest for original expression enables an individual and seamless integration of flowers, fruits, seeds, greenery, and props to achieve the design goal of the moment. In this way, each creation becomes a unique, evolving dialogue between designer and client. Blooming cool.

Escape To Another Place

Like a terrarium. Into a miniature oasis of lushness and green and clean oxygen. So small, so fascinating. It's like escaping to another place.

I Hate Bullies

Don't even ask. Just know that this is one thing 'I hate', and yes, I know that 'hate' is a strong word. (Bullying is a form of abuse. It comprises repeated acts over time that involves a real or perceived imbalance of power with the more powerful individual or group abusing those who are less powerful. The power imbalance may be social power and/or physical power. The victim of bullying is sometimes referred to as a target. Bullying consists of three basic types of abuse - emotional, verbal and physical. It typically involves subtle methods of coercion such as psychological manipulation. Bullying can be defined in many different ways. Bullying in school and the workplace is also referred to as peer abuse. Bullying can occur in any context in which human beings interact with each other. This includes school, church, the workplace, home and neighborhoods. Bullying can exist between social groups, social classes and even between countries.) Bully Be Gone!

Olympic Dream Olympic Loss

Imagine getting ready to skate for your country in your own country. Imagine being excited that your parents finally arrive in Vancouver to cheer you on. Imagine that your Mother has a heart attack in the hotel room and dies. Imagine being strong enough to skate in memory of your biggest fan and loving parent. This my friends, is Joannie Rochette.

Scary Scareb Sunday

In was a normal Sunday morning. Well, it was a normal Sunday morning and it wasn't a normal Sunday morning. My son is at a friend's house and my husband is at work and I'm alone with the dog savouring my morning coffee; the sun today is glorious - glorious for a Canadian February morning. I've even turned off the furnace and opened the window beside me. That's when my normal Sunday morning became the 'scary scareb sunday'. I had just gotten out of the longest and most incredible pampering shower, twisted my gloss-treated hair into a white fluffy towel, poured a second cup of joe and sat down to do a post. I think he may actual kill her. I grabbed my camera and thought about filming the dog in the backyard in an effort to capture his violent, abusive screaming - but decided to mind my own business, holding onto my lucky scareb to wish her safety. I mean. What would you do? The man and women living behind me in the most lovely home are scrapping it out like wild wolves. Things are slamming - fuck you - bitch - loser - and other horrible words are being shoved in her face. It's been going on for close to an hour now. I do not know them. What would you do? (I am NOT making this up.)

My New Teapreneur Business Postcard

I love a larger business card. Don't you think a postcard is more substantial? - can be pinned on a bulletin board, framed, layered on a fridge (if you do that), used as a bookmark, scrapbooked....I decided to have fun with this card. Tea was discovered in 2737 BC China and I love the Cinderella-esque look of it! I like how it tells a story....I'm bringing the tea house to you! I'm galloping your fine loose tea selections to your home! Fun! More views here and check out the superior snow cap green tea. Luscious.
***Dear Readers, Some of you may be wondering about my new venture. Why Tea? Why Now? Here's why.
