True: This Is The 'Real' Alice From Wonderland

Her name is Alice Pleasance Liddell and Lewis Carroll based the character after her. Isn't she darling! Lewis Carroll took both photographs, in fact - did you know he did a lot of portrait work? I am loving the juxtaposition of that frail little fern sitting beside her. She looks innocent yet mischievous all at once. Lovely.

Apparently, some scholars insist Carroll was a pedophile, as his private collections of little Alice and other children contain some nude portraits as well. Creepy, but it doesn't diminish my obsession with the story. I actually didn't learn about this until recently.

Apparently Carroll liked her too, a little too much. hard to say i blamed him, she is adorable, but the taint of the pedophilia sort of ruins it for me. Now, Johnny Depp. yum. Second only to Rob Pattinson. double yum.
